Black Is Our Identity – Not a Borrowed Color

black

Black people will always remain Black—no matter where we live, no matter how far we travel. Living in the Western world or adopting another country as our home doesn’t change our identity or our roots. We are not white, and we will never be. Our color, culture, and heritage are part of who we are. It is not something to be denied or hidden.

Some say we are foreigners in places like Europe or America, but I say—how can we be foreigners in lands that our ancestors helped build through forced labor and painful history? Slavery and hard work brought us here, and today, we are part and parcel of these societies. We contribute to their economy, culture, and development. Denying that reality is denying history itself.

Africa remains our motherland, our inheritance, our origin. But the truth is, through pain and sacrifice, Black people have rooted themselves in every corner of the earth. We deserve respect, not rejection. Recognition, not racism. And most importantly, equality, not exclusion.

We are Black. We are proud. And we belong—wherever we choose to call home.
